Thanks to all who stopped by the Peterson Tuners booth at Scotty's Steel Guitar Show-I enjoyed meeting with everyone while doing some demos of the new Stroboflip which turned out to be a sellout success! The compact new Stroboflip will be replacing the VS-II and V-SAM models but will still have the Jeff Newman temperament settings for C6th and E9th pedal steel-An additional E9th temperament has been added for the Jeff Newman settings but with the E notes lowered down to 440-The new Stroboflip also has some temperaments for Dobro as well-for more info please check: http://www.petersontuners.com/forum/post.asp?method=TopicQuote&TOPIC_ID=1667&FORUM_ID=6 |

Well, I think that the Peterson Co. nailed it on this one. I copped one last week and tried it in my studio, then on the live gig this weekend. For the last 10 years, I've been using the E.T. tuning with slight variation on the 3rds. Lately I've been wandering back to J.I. but not wanting to go with the fussiness of the Newman settings, the Peterson E=440 JT seems to work out well. I also play guitar and dobro in my studio so this unit should work out well. What's the latest on the clamp update for steels? |

I spoke with John Norris earlier in the week and he mentioned a new clamp was now available for the Stroboflip |

Got my new clamp in the mail about 3 days ago so I guess they will catch up with everyone soon enough.
