I was driving through town(Vegas) yesterday and saw a billboard that said CMT's Miss America Show live at the new Planet Hollywood Casino(fomerly the Aladdin)".
For some reason I always thought that CMT was for Country Music Tv.

Now they are showing beauty pageants?
Do the contestant's have to sing a country song for the talent part? Do they have to have Dolly's measurements?
I'm not sure what this has to do with country music, I guess someone at CMT must know what the conection is.

Its owned by the same people who own MTV. Country has been hijacked. Where is George Strait and Garth Brooks? They've got the money to stop this. Someone needs to start a new organization dedicated to real country music.

Ok, I know that CMT has varied away from Country Music, but the Miss America Pageant has nothing to do with music.
They are advertising it as America's original reality show.

What happened to the Nashville Network. Didn't it used to be TNN?

Thanks;

TNN is now "Spike". As mentioned CMT is owned and managed by the same management that manages MTV.

The programming sort of mirrors MTV too with the apparent aim at mostly teens and twenty's.

My Cable has CMT but I rarely watch it.

TNN was a great channel, "back in the day." I remember watching the Ralph Emory show religiously, and got a big kick out of Minnie Pearl stopping by with the latest corny jokes....Good steel picking in the house band on that show, too.

CMT stands for "If I'm channel surfing and land on CMT and expect to hear or see COUNTRY
MUSIC I keep pressing the surf button".

Now, if you have Direct TV, you can listen to hank's place on channell 811...Easy to remember A-11. I'd rather watch a blue screen than the way the NEW COUNTRY stars dress anyway.

All times are Pacific (US)
